COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) is conducted by one of the Universities in the State for admission to MBA course (full-time/part-time/evening/distance mode) in all the universities including their affiliated colleges/institutes in Andhra Pradesh. During 1997, Andhra University conducted MBACET.
COMMON DETAILS are given hereunder:Reservations SC 15% ST 6% BC 25% physically Handicapped 3% Sports & NCC 5% (women candidates 33-1/3% from each category).
Eligibility Bachelor's degree in any discipline (other than BFA and BOL) with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) those appearing for the final year degree exam are also eligible for the MBACET.
Application Procedure Application form for entrance test together with Instructions booklet can be obtained by post from the Convener, MBACET, Vijayanagaram Palace, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam 530003 or as notified through bank draft of Rs. 105 in favor of the Secretary, APSCHE, MBACET A/c payable at Hyderabad, along with a self-addressed stamped (Rs. 8) envelope of size 30 cm x 24 cm. Completed application should reach the Convener by the notified date.
Selection On the basis of rank obtained at the MBACET conducted at various centers in the State. The test on GMAT model contains questions of multiple choices on reading comprehension, writing ability, critical reasoning, problem solving, and data sufficiency. Short listed candidates are called for group discussion and interview by the respective university/institute.
General (I) Candidates who qualify CET are also required to apply separately to the concerned institute for admission in response to its admission into Master of Human Resources Management (MHRM) course.
ENGINEERING, AGRICULTURAL & MEDICAL COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (EAMCET) IS CONDUCTED BY ONE OF THE STATE Universities for admission to MBBS/BDS/BPharm (including BAMS/BUMS/BHMS) courses in all the medical colleges in the State. Following are exempted from EAMCET:
- In service candidates of State Govt departments,
- Govt of India nominees,
- Telugus domiciled abroad.
Admission is open to Indian nationals and residents of Andhra Pradesh. Following are considered as State residents: [Candidates who have resided in the State for 10 yrs excluding periods of study outside the State, Candidates either of whose parents have resided in the State for 10 yrs, Candidates either of whose parents/spouses of those in State/Central, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies, Universities employment within the State at the time of application.]
Reservations SC 15% ST 6% BC 25% Children of Service/Ex-Servicemen 1% Women candidates 330-1/3% Anglo-Indian 1 seat Physically handicapped/NCC/Sports personnel 1/4% each. Seats are also reserved for Govt of India nominees.
Eligibility Age MBBS/BDS 17-below 22 yrs (17-below 25 yrs in case of BSc/MSc degree holders and SC/ST candidates) as on 31st December of the year of admission. BPharm 16 yrs. Academic qualification MBBS/BDS Passed/appeared in Intermediate exam (10+2) with Phy, Chem, Biol (including practical's). BPharm Passed/appeared in Intermediate exam (10+2) with Phy, Chem, Biol (as optional) from the Board of Intermediate Education, AP or equivalent. Candidates should be medically fit.
Application Procedure Application form along with Instruction Booklet can be obtained from notified branches of Andhra Bank in the State on cash payment of Rs. 175 or by post from the Convener, EAMCET, through bank draft in favor of the Convener along with stamped (Rs. 6) envelope of 32*25 cms size. Completed application should reach the Convener, EAMCET….. By the prescribed date.
Selection Merit in EAMCET conducted at Ananthapur, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Kurnool, Nellore, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal centers. The question papers are set in English/Telugu. Candidates opting to write the entrance test in Urdu are allotted Centre at Hyderabad. The questions consist of Phy, Chem and Biol and are of objective type (multiple choice and fill-up blanks) and of Intermediate standard. Candidates are required to obtain 30% marks to qualify the test. Candidates are ranked in order of merit in EAMCET. The merit list is notified in colleges/local dailies.
Admission Candidates whose name appears in the merit list are also required to apply separately for admission in the State Medical Colleges. Application form can be obtained from the college on payment of Rs. 100 Completed applications with registration fee of Rs.300 through Bank Draft should reach the Registrar, NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada by the notified date. The admission notification is issued sometime in June. Fees MBBS Govt Medical colleges Rs. 6,000 per annum; Private Medical Colleges Free Seats Rs 20,000 per annum, Payment Seats Rs 75,000 per annum, registration fee extra.
ENGINEERING, AGRICULTURAL MEDICAL, COMMON ENTRANCE TEST ( EAMCET) is conducted by one of the State Universities for admission, inter-alia, to BE/BArch/BTech (Agril Engg/Dairy Tech) courses in:
- All Engineering Colleges (including private/minority institutions) in Andhra Pradesh affiliated to the Universities namely – Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural, Andhra JNTU, Kakatiya, Nagarjuna, Osmania, Sri Krishnadevaraya, Sri Venkateswara; and
- Regional Engineering Colleges (AP quota seats).
Allocation of Seats Free Seats All seats in Government/University colleges and 50% seats in private engineering colleges. Payment Seats 50% seats including NRIs in private engineering colleges.
Admission is open to State residents.
Reservations SC 15% ST 6% (7% in the case of REC, Wrangle) BC 25% NCC 1% Games & Sports ½ % Physically handicapped ½%, Children of Ex-Servicemen/Defense personnel 2% Anglo Indian Community 1 seat in University Engineering Colleges.
Eligibility Indian nationals Age 16 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Academic Qualification Intermediate exam (10+2) with physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional or Vocational courses in the fields of Engineering & Technology by the Board of Intermediate Education, AP or Diploma examination in Engineering/Architecture of the State Board of Technical Education & Training or equivalent. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible. Candidates re required to comply with other regulations and requirements as stipulated by the concerned universities and REC, Warangal. Women and physically handicapped candidates are not eligible for BTech (Mining) course.
Application Procedure Application form and Instruction Booklet can be obtained from the Head Post Offices of Andhra Pradesh (numbering 104) on cash payment of Rs. 255, Completed applications should reach the Convener, EAMCET, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Mahaveer Marg, Masab Tank, Hyderabad 500028 or as notified by the prescribed date.
Selection On the basis of merit in common entrance test held at various centers in Andhra Pradesh i.e. Anantapur, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Kurnool, Nellore, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal or as notified from time to time. The medium of the test is English and Telugu. Candidates who have studied the qualifying exam in Urdu, medium and wish to avail assistance for translating the question in Urdu, are allotted a Centre at Hyderabad only. Candidates applying for B.Arch course are also required to appear in aptitude test.
